Here is a quick recap of the day of the Conference. We had 37 participants, 14 volunteers, 8
guest speakers, the Horizon worship team and our A.B.I.D.E. leadership team. Participants and speakers came from near and
far—in fact, one of our guest speakers, Beth Forbus from Sarah’s Laughter, flew
out from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We are
praising God for bringing all these precious people to the Conference and
lavishing His love upon each of us.
Over and over again, people came up to thank us for the Conference
and many asked if this would be an annual event. We had participants coming from all over San
Diego County and others drove from Whittier, Fullerton and one couple drove all
the way from Scottsdale, Arizona. Many
told us that they were deeply blessed by the welcoming and loving
atmosphere. We also received feedback
that the guest speakers provided an abundance of valuable information and biblical
encouragement. Finally, many of the
participants enjoyed being able to pick-and-choose between attending the track
#1 (infertility sessions) and the track #2 (adoption sessions). If you would like to purchase DVDs of the infertility or adoption sessions, just email

There were so many precious moments throughout the day, but
one of our favorite memories was looking out in the courtyard at lunchtime to a
sea of smiling faces and hearing people talking and laughing together. We had been praying for a sweet time of
fellowship during lunch time—and this was an amazing answer to prayer! It was a perfect, sunny spring day—the Son
was shining down upon each of us.
Another
priceless memory was the Memorial Service/Butterfly Release at the end of the
Conference. Mike Clark from the Horizon
worship team softly strummed his guitar in the background and Beth Forbus from
Sarah’s Laugher delivered a very powerful message of hope and healing. It was a beautiful time of restoration and
renewal as couples released beautiful Monarch butterflies in honor and
remembrance of their journey through infertility, loss and/or adoption. About 60 butterflies were released and many
of the butterflies lingered on the bushes and flowers while couples prayed
together.
Remember,
the new Support Groups start on
Thursday, June 6th at 6:30pm at Horizon Christian Fellowship. The Adoption
Support Group will meet in the 300 Room and the Women’s Infertility Support Group will meet in the Glassroom. We have some amazing guest speakers lined
up. No registration is needed. Spread the word!
